Yvonne Robertson Gains Her Black Belt

Congratulations to Yvonne Robertson on gaining her 1st Dan Black Belt.

Yvonne has been practising Zen Judo for the past 19 years, since Sharna and Martin nagged both of us into starting at the Felpham Zen Judo Club with them and has had to tread a long and sometimes frustrating path to her Black Belt.

As some of you might be aware she has also had to recover from having a hip operation a couple of years ago and due to the operation had given up any hope of progressing beyond 1st Kyu.

But even then she was happy to help with teaching the juniors and to assist in the running of the Bognor Club and the annual Martial Arts Course.

Gaining your Black Belt is something special and for the Bognor Club this has completed the set. The Bognor Club can truly now say it has a "Zen Judo Family".
